Who we are
Calculate.Studio ("we", "us") operates the website calculate.studio and its embeddable calculator widgets. For any privacy question or request, contact hello@calculate.studio. This policy applies to the website, the /embed widgets, and our related pages.
Calculator inputs stay on your device
Every calculator on this site computes its result locally in your browser. The values you enter — weights, incomes, loan amounts, measurements — are not transmitted to our servers, not stored by us, and not used to build any profile of you.
The one exception is the optional AI interpretation feature: when it runs, the computed result and the calculator's own reference material are sent to our AI provider to generate the explanation. No account identifier, name or contact detail accompanies that request, the request is rate-limited and cached, and the text returned is validated against the calculator's own sources before display.
What we do collect
Like almost every website, our hosting infrastructure processes technical request data (IP address, browser type, requested page, timestamp) to serve pages, protect against abuse and keep the site fast. This data is processed on the legal basis of legitimate interest in operating a secure service.
If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to send (your address and message). We use it only to respond, and we keep correspondence no longer than needed for that purpose.
- Unit and currency preferences you pick are stored locally in your own browser (localStorage) — they never leave your device.
- We do not require accounts, logins or signups anywhere on the site.
- We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Cookies and similar technologies
We aim to keep cookie use minimal. The site itself works without setting tracking cookies: preferences use localStorage, and calculators need no cookies at all.
Where we use privacy-conscious analytics, it is to understand which calculators are used and to improve them — in aggregate, not to identify you. If and where advertising is shown to keep the site free, advertising partners may set cookies subject to their own policies and to the consent choices presented to you where the law requires them (such as in the EU/UK). You can also control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings.
Your rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, POPIA, CCPA and similar laws)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. Because we collect so little, most requests are simple: there is usually nothing held about you beyond routine server logs and any email you have sent us.
To exercise any right, email hello@calculate.studio. We respond to verified requests within the timelines the applicable law sets (for example, one month under the GDPR). California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.
Data retention and international transfers
Routine infrastructure logs are retained only as long as our hosting provider needs them for security and reliability. Email correspondence is kept only while relevant. Our site is served from a global content-delivery network, so technical request data may be processed in data centres outside your country, protected by our providers' standard contractual safeguards.
Children
The site is a general-audience educational tool. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; the site requires no account and collects no profile data from anyone. Calculators that touch on health topics are educational only and are not directed at children.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date shown at the top of this page. Material changes will be flagged on this page. Continued use of the site after a change means the updated policy applies.
